This essay seeks to explore how toxic masculinity is created through cultural pressure and how it negatively impacts people of all genders. We as Americans learn a lot of our socio-cultural behaviors from technology, whether it be television, video games, advertisements, or even pornography.

Through my essay I will describe the content analysis I have performed dealing with the lyrics of a song. I believe femininity in distorted through mass media but I also want to tie in how masculinity also plays a huge role.
Such media messages increase the likelihood of men engaging in rape and domestic violence. In conclusion, the conduct of men and women on the media shapes people’s perception of femininity and masculinity. Often, the media reinforces gender roles in accordance with cultural views.
